SEIU President Andy Stern sent this message to SEIU activists and members this morning. Watch this video and join our campaign for Employee Free Choice.
America spoke on Tuesday: we elected a President who will stand up for working families to get our economy back on track.
A key component to our economic recovery will be the Employee Free Choice Act. So today I want to introduce you to one of its most prominent supporters: President-elect Barack Obama. Don't take it from me, though. Please watch this video of Barack Obama talking about the Employee Free Choice Act in his own words, and then sign our petition to show your support.
Barack Obama helped lead the fight for the Employee Free Choice Act in the Senate, and he's promised to sign the bill as President.
The Employee Free Choice Act will be among the priorities for President-elect Obama and the new, pro-middle class Congress as they put together a rescue package for working families next year.
But make no mistake: the fight for this bill will be difficult. Wealthy CEOs have lined up tens of millions of dollars to make sure that workers aren't able to earn better wages and benefits that can support their families.
The next President and Congress need to see the broad public support for this much-needed boost for the middle class. Check out this video and join Barack in supporting the Employee Free Choice Act.
